Stunning crop art has sprung up across rice fields in Japan. But this is no alien creation - the designs have been cleverly planted. Farmers creating the huge displays use no ink or dye. Instead, different colours of rice plants have been precisely and strategically arranged and grown in the paddy fields.
As summer progresses and the plants shoot up, the detailed artwork begins to emerge.
Man I am always blown away by any farmers who do this.
Mostly because not only does it take an assload of work and skill to plant everything properly. Like seriously the amount of planning to go into these is nuts.
But you’re also basically risking your crop for ART. Like. This is how you live and make jmoney.

NO. FUCK EVERYONE. I LOVE CURSIVE AND I DO USE IT ALL THE TIME. ughhhhhh it’s not even taught in schools in this state any more and that
When I was substitute teaching an English class for seniors in High School, I wrote the instructions for the day in cursive. 90% of the students couldn’t read it so I had to break them into groups and teach remedial cursive. It broke my heart and frightened me a little. Especially since all my students in Japan (Middle School) had almost flawless cursive.
I was forbidden from using cursive in high school. But I was singled out from the other students.
My elementary school insisted on teaching cursive to students, but in the third grade. My mom had taught it to me when I was six, so while they were teaching the kids in first grade printing, I was writing in cursive and getting in trouble for it because I wasn’t doing the assignments correctly.
I’m not even sure why I did it because I really hated writing in cursive and still do and now that I’m an adult and can do what I want I write in all-caps because my handwriting is terrible and it’s a favor to the world.
Cursive doesn’t have a place in the world anymore.
DEAL WITH IT NERDS.
